The Mayflower
The Thames Path is not without decent stop-offs, and this Rotherhithe mainstay has history like no other. The Mayflower pub has stood on the site since time immemorial, and for sure when the Pilgrim Fathers set off in their own Mayflower from a nearby mooring in 1620. The current building is from the 1700s, and looks every inch the old-fashioned English pub with oak beams and wooden panelling. A fine (if expensive) dining room can be found upstairs, with great views of the Thames. But if you’re standing on the outside decking at high tide you may get wet.
